Inezita Barroso’s video clip

Marvada Pinga

To celabrate the singer Inezita Barroso’s centenary, since her birth on March 4, 1925, Selo Sesc invited Camila Kater and Samuel Mariani to create, write, direct and animate the video clip teaser for her interpretation of the music “Marvada Pinga”, recorded live in 1978 at Sesc. This time, the animator Caroline Tanaka joined the team to animate and to assist the production process.

Embracing a playfull and ludic mode, inspired by Inezita’s cheerfulness and the most popular spirit in Brazil, cachaça or pinga, the team gathered references in Brazilian folklore, Naïve art, historical phenakistiscopes and kaleidoscope to create a drunkish and colorfull animation.
